It was launched at the turn of the 20th century as Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma's finest beer. Over the years, it has become the most awarded of Mexican beers. Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery (Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma) is a major brewery based in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, founded in 1890. It is a subsidiary of FEMSA, the largest beverage company in Mexico.
